Claiming for scarring

I have received a scar as a result of an assault. Can I claim for this?

Yes, you can claim for any scarring resulting from a crime of violence. However if the scarring is as a result of an operation required due to the crime of violence, then you cannot recover compensation for it, e.g. if your arm is broken and an operation is required to set it which results in a scar. In this situation you can claim only for the broken arm and not for the scarring.
