Sexual Assault by Penetration

Sexual assault by penetration (i.e. the insertion of a body part other than the penis or of an object such as vibrator or bottle into the anus or vagina against the consent of the other party, irrespective of gender) is regarded as a non-consensual sexual offence. As such it is a crime that is recognised by the CICA as being a crime of violence and so allows the victim to apply for an award of compensation.

If the body part inserted is the penis then this is regarded as rape.
